Fort St. George at Fort St. George was opened to the public on 31st January 1948. It has a collection of objects that were donated by the then Madras Presidency Government. There are about 3661 antiquities in the museum. They are displayed in ten galleries and they are spread over three floors. Other products found there are rifles, pistols, helmets, breast plates and old fashioned weapons like bow and arrow.

 

There is an Indo-French gallery displaying the decorated porcelain, clocks, coins and furniture, etc. there is also a Wodeyar’s Gallery with coins, flags and portraits of Mysore School. It is opened on all days except Friday from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
