Cholamandal Artists' Village was established in 1966 and many painters and sculptors live here as a community and exhibit their skills. The works such as paintings, terra cota, batiks and handicrafts are made here.

The artists’ community was founded by K. C. S. Paniker who served as the principal of the Madras School of Arts. Cholamandal Artists' Village has many art galleries, museums and open air theatres. It is located in close proximity to Golden Beach and it open daily from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
