Bharathiyar Illam was the residence of the freedom fighter and poet, Subramanya Bharathi. This was renovated by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1993 and opened to public on 2^nd October 1993.

Bharathiyar Illam contains the photographs of the poet Subramanya Bharathi and his family and friends. It also displays the letters written by the poet to his friend Nelliappar and the letter written to him by Mahatma Gandhi.
