Chandigarh Climate in Summer Season

 

The summer season in Chandigarh lasts from May to June and the maximum climate at this time is 40 degree Celsius. May is the hottest month and when July starts the climate drops down with the onset of monsoon. No or very less tourist activities are seen at this time and the inhabitants head over to the nearest hills stations like Shimla and Kasauli for relief.

 

 

Chandigarh Climate in Winter Season

 

The winter season in Chandigarh is short and lasts only for two and half months. It starts in November and lasts till mid-January. The evenings and nights are very cold and so people usually remain indoors at this time. Fog is a common feature in late evenings and early mornings and this hinders vision and so affects driving.

 

Chandigarh Climate in Monsoon Season

 

Monsoon season starts in July and lasts till September. This increases the humidity of the city. However it brings new life to the trees and plants making the region fertile. The temperature is mild and ranges between 25 degree Celsius and 30 degree Celsius. Rainfall is unpredictable and sometimes it is milder and sometimes very heavy. The city gets its rainfall from southwest monsoon and northeast monsoon. The average annual rainfall is 1114 mm.

Chandigarh has pleasant climate during this time and the maximum temperature ranges between 16 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature ranges between 9 degree Celsius and 18 degree Celsius.

 

Chandigarh Climate in Autumn Season

 

Autumn season in Chandigarh lasts between mid-March and April and the temperature sometimes goes up to 36 degree Celsius and drops as much as 13 degree Celsius. The temperature remains at an average minimum of 17 degree Celsius and an average maximum of 20 degree Celsius.
