Ashoka Pillar is a pillar with inscriptions of Ashoka and Samudragupta. It was built in 16th century and is standing within the Allahabad Fort. The Ashokan inscriptions dates back to 232 BC and the later inscriptions are attributed to the king of Gupta dynasty Samudragupta belonging to the period of 375 AD. The later inscriptions belong to the Mughal Emperor Jahangir.
