Yukta Mookhey Biography

Yukta Mookhey is an Indian model and actress. She was crowned Miss World in the year 1999 at the Olympia theatre in London at the age of 22. Next year, she handed over the crown to another Indian, Priyanka Chopra. She was the runner up of Femina Miss India contest held at India, which gave her representation in Miss World pageant. After winning the crown she appeared in a few movies, though not became successful. Now she is an active politician and member of BJP. She appeared in popular Tamil song – Yukta Mukhey Yukta Mukhey of Ajith’s Tamil movie – Poovellam un vaasam. Most recently she appeared in news filing a case against her husband, Prince Tuli. He is a hotel owner.

Born at Mumbai on October 7, 1977 her family lived in the Middle East till Yukta was 7 years old. She studied Zoology before participating in Miss World contest. Later she learnt Hindustani classical music and took a diploma in computer sciences. She won the Miss World title in 1999 and later entered movies. Her first appearance was for the Tamil song, Yukta Mukhey of Poovellam un vaasam, where she appeared as Miss World Yukta Mukhey. She debut silver screen as a lead heroine in 2002 movie Pyaasa, opposite Aftab Shivdasani. The movie directed by A. Muthu was a disaster at box office. She too, didn’t find keen interest in taking more Bollywood projects.

Later she appeared in Katputhili, released in 2006 where she starred aside Mink Brar and Milind Soman. This movie too disappeared without leaving any mark. She made friendly appearance in Love In Japan the same year and later did an Asameese movie, Kab Kahaba Tu I Love You. She once again made a comeback to Bollywood with Memsahab - Lost In A Mirage in 2008 in the role of a prostitute, but failed again. She got married the same year also.
