Yuki Bhambri Biography

Yuki Bhambri is an Indian sportsman competing in the game of tennis. He is managed and trained by IMG Academy in Brandenton in Florida. His highest career ranking in the world is 177 in singles category and 168 in doubles category as of 24th September 2012.

 

Yuki was born on 4th July 1992. His father’s name is Chander and his mother’s name is Indu. He has two elder sisters Ankita Bhambri and Sanaa Bhambri who are also professional tennis players. He is coached by Aditya Sachdeva.

 

He started playing junior level tournaments in 2008 and was ranked number one continuously. He played Junior Grand Slam Tournaments, Junior Australian Open Boys, French Open Boys Singles and Wimbledon Boys Singles. He won the 2009 Junior Australian Open Boys title.

 

He was able to take India up to semifinals in the Junior Fed Cup in Mexico. He won Grade A ITF tournament and Osaka Mayor’s Cup and Asia/Oceania Cup. He became the first Indian to win in the singles event at the Junior Australian Open. He was only 16 years old at that time.

 

He won Orange Bowl in the Sony Ericsson Open qualifying draw. He got a wild card position for the 2010 Australian Open as he won the 2009 Junior Australian Open. He is sponsored by the Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Club Mahindra Holidays. He received silver medal at the Youth Olympics held at Singapore.
