Wamiqa Gabbi Biography

Wamiqa Gabbi is a young actress of Bollywood who was well noticed for her first movie as heroine – Sixteen (2013). Earlier she was seen doing minor roles in Jab we met, Love Aaj Kal, Bittoo Boss etc. She made her Punjabi debut in 2013 itself and has appeared in a couple of movies for which her role was appreciated. Ishq Brandy costarring Roshan Prince, Binnu Dhillon, Shobhita Rana and Japji Khaira and Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 costarring Amrinder Gill, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mandy Takhar and Binnu Dhillon were her Punjabi releases. She succeeded in winning Best Supporting Actress at PTC Punjabi Film Awards continuously for two years (2014 and 2015) for the movies - Ishq Brandy and Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22.

Wamiqa Gabbi is a Punjabi girl born on 29 September 1993 in Chandigarh. Her father is a writer and her mother is an educationist. Since very young Gabbi wanted to become an actress and made her foray into mini screen at the age of only 8, as a child artist for the television series - Saude Dillan De in Punjabi. She is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi and English languages and is a trained Kathak dancer. Whenever there used to be any audition in Chandigarh, she used to attend it, as she dreamt to become an actress since young.

 Once she appeared in a reality show on television where Aamir Khan was the judge. She was one among the top five contestants and that’s how she landed to her first Bollywood role – Jab we met in 2007 as a child artist. She played Kareena Kapoor's younger sister in this memorable movie. As a teenager, she played the first heroine role for Sixteen and most recently appeared in a Punjabi short film - Ishq Haazir Hai. she is to debut south Indian films with two movies very soon - Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam and Bhale Manchi Roju.
