  • Vishnu Vardhan is an Indian sportsman who competes in the game of tennis. He ranks among the top 300 on the ATP tour and is one among the Indian team that won bronze medal in the 2010 Asian Games held at Guangzhou in China. In the mixed doubles event, he pairs with Sania Mirza.

     

    Vishnu Vardhan was born on 27th July 1987 in Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh. His father’s name is R. Jagadishan and his mother’s name is Padmavathi. He completed his schooling from DAV Safilguda School at Hyderabad. He is employed at ONGC as a Human Resource executive. He is coached by C. V. Nagraj.

     

    His highest ranking in men’s tennis singles event is 262 as of 10th September 2012 and in doubles event it is 180 as of 13th February 2012. He represented India in the Davis Cup. He started exhibiting his talents since 2003 and went on to win the Junior Nationals and earned a place in the Indian Junior Davis Cup team. He also played at Inter-University tournaments and served as team captain in those times and has bagged gold medal many times.

     

    His career high ranking in national level is two. He won the Zuari Garden City – ITF in 2012 and Toyota Bangalore Open ITF in June 2012. He paired with Leander Paes and participated in the 2012 London Olympics in the men’s doubles category but could not achieve in that. On 2nd September 2012, he won the tournament at Bangkolk in Thailand.
