Vishal Mahadkar Biography

Vishal Mahadkar is a promising young film director of Bollywood who made his dream entry to the field by 2012 hit movie – Blood Money which became profitable in just one week. He got his first break with Vishesh Films. Since then he is known for his association with Mahesh Bhatt camp has worked with his team for several movies. Born in a rich business family he is a descendant of great Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Vishal S. Mahadkar was born on November 30, 1978. He was raised in Pali Hill, Mumbai which is known to be the place where Bollywood film celebrities live. Thus he joined Bollywood later. His father Captain Shivaji Mahadkar is an Ex-Army Officer and a businessman too. He started his schooling from Bombay Scottish School and later completed at Dragon School, Oxford London. He moved to England at the age of 8. His future studies was completed in India. He graduated from Sherwood College, Nainital, the college were many film celebrities studied. He was later sent to Kolhapur Palace by his father to learn more about Indian culture and arts. He later studied Business administration from Swinburne University of Technology.

He entered family business in 1999 after studies. He founded 'Mahadkar Infotech' and many more organizations related to IT. It was during this time when he got exposed to the technologies of film making and he drew close to it. In 2003 he wound up his IT operations to pursue his dreams in film industry. He joined Mahesh Bhatt’s camp as junior assistant director to Mohit Suri in 2005. He later assisted several Bollywood films and also wrote scripts. He wrote the screenplay of Blood Money and the movie was previously titled Jannat 2, Kalyug 2 etc. The movie starred Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri and was a descent hit at box office.
