Vinod Rathod is a famous playback singer of Bollywood movies. his most popular songs are ‘Chupana bhi nahi aata’ and ‘E mere humsafar’ of Baazigar, Dholi taro dol baaje of Hum dil dechuke sanam, title track of Lage raho munnabhai, Sundara sundara of Rakshak, Kya kehna of Had kar di aapne and Tera naam rakh diya of Deewana. He is inspired by Kishore Kumar in his singing style and sees him as his idol. He has sung many hit songs with Alka Yagnik. Best songs of Vinod Rathod belong to 90’s.
Vinod Rathod was born to a musical family as the son of Pandit Chaturbuj Rathod. He is the brother of famous composer Shravan Rathod and singer Roop Kumar rathod. His basic training was given by his father himself, who felt that his son has the singing talent. He debut Bollywood singing quawali for Usha Khanna’s composition. The song was Mere dil mein hai andera of Bedaag. He sang for many composers like Ajay Swami and Surinder Kohli and Usha Khanna also during his struggling period. His television serial song ‘Yeh hai aakash Ganga’ became popular and he began to receive a little attention.
His first major hits include ‘Baadal pe chalta aa’, ‘Zindagi har janam ki dasthan’ and ‘Parbat se kaali ghata’ and ‘Sheharom mein ek shahar’. But it was the song ‘Romeo naam mera chori hai kaam tera’ of Roop ki rani choron ka raja that made him popular. When he sang two popular songs for Shah Rukh Khan, Aise deewanagi, Koi na koi chahiye pyar karne waala and Chupana bhi nahi aatha for Shah Rukh Khan, he became a busy star overnight. But later he witnessed a down fall also.
