Vikas Kumar Biography

Vikas Kumar is an Indian actor who plays supporting roles in Bollywood films. He was most recently seen in John Abraham starrer Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran in 2018, where he played one among the team member who carried the nuclear mission - Major Prem. He received rave reviews for his noted performance and the film was a box office hit. He has earlier done a few short films, and his role as Army Major in Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran gave him the real break he was waiting for. Apart from an actor, he is also a dialogue coach. He is also a television actor whose most memorable role is YRF TV's Khotey Sikkey.

 

Vikas Kumar was born in May, Bihar. He is one among the rare artists of Bollywood cinema known as a dialogue coach. He runs a dialect coaching firm called Strictly Speaking, and has also trained actors for the highly acclaimed Bollywood films, Ishqiya, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Aurangzeb and Udaan. His acting career began with theatre after he attended a 3-month workshop with renowned play director Barry John. Later he joined John’s team for several theatre productions and also worked with Aamir Raza Husain and Virat Husain. He began his career as a dialogue coach only after that.

 

He was first seen in 2006 short film, Shanu Taxi where he played the title role. Later he appeared in short films – Handover, Prithipal Singh..A Story, ABS NT, AJJI, Hamid etc before he finally landed into Bollywood through the memorable performance as Major in Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. He played a corrupt cop in Devashish Makhija’s film Ajji. He played an officer of the law in Yash Raj Films’ television series Powder (2010) and Khotey Sikkey (2011). He also played in Senior Inspector Rajat in CID.
