Vikas Bahl Biography

Vikas Bahl is a young film maker and screenwriter of Bollywood, who shot to fame after the success of Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen in 2014. The movie also starred National award winner Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon in pivot roles. He co-scripted the movie aside Chaitally Parmar and Parveez Shaikh too. Earlier he has co-directed and scripted one Bollywood movie - Chillar Party aside Nitesh Tiwari which earned National award for best children’s film. Actor Ranbir Kapoor was seen doing an item number for the film and the movie was produced by Salman Khan and Ronnie Screwvala. Vikas is a Bollywood film producer and has also been an associate producer for a few movies like Dev D, Udaan, No one killed Jessica etc. His upcoming movie stars Shahid Kapoor in pivot role and the movie is titled Shaandar.

Vikas was born and brought up in Delhi. His father worked with the Indian Oil Corporation. He completed his graduation in Delhi and later moved to Mumbai to pursue MBA. After that he started his career as a client servicing in an advertising company for many years before he became a spot boy for UTV productions. In 2011, he started his new production company, Phantom Films, along with filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Same year he entered direction field as well, through Chillar Party which earned critics’ appreciation. Though the movie was made for children, many critics suggested that elder ones can also watch the film.

He surprised everyone with his next flick, Queen in 2014 which is remembered for the powerful performance of Kangana Ranaut. The movie was a huge hit at box office too. The movie narrates the story of a Punjabi bride’s trip to Paris and Amsterdam, the places meant to be visit for her honeymoon, though her marriage got cancelled just one day before.
