Vijay Vasanth is a film actor and model from Nagercoil, Kanyakumari. He made his debut in Venkat Prabhu's 2007 cult-hit, Chennai 600028, where he was among the ensemble cast of actors including newcomers. The movie included a long list of actors including Jai, Shiva, Premji Amaran, Aravind Akash, Nithin Sathya and newcomers – Vijayalakshmi, Ajay Raj, Ranjith, Vijay Vasanth, Prasanna, Inigo Prabhakaran, Karthik and Arun. Vijay has portrayed both lead and supporting roles and often make friendly appearances in movies.

Since the success of the debut flick, he has appeared as side kick or character roles in many movies later. Thozha, Saroja, Naadodigal, Kanimozhi, Mankatha and Nanban are some of his noted performances in a supporting or cameo role. This actor has been seen in several successful multi-starrer movies. Naadodigal – is one of his most noted performances up-to-date. He also played solo hero in a couple of movies 'Madhil Mel Poonai' and 'Theriyama Kadhal Panniten'. He made a cameo appearance in the big budget film – Mass in 2015. He played male lead opposite Sayanthara in Vanna Jigina (2015) which received mixed response from critics.

His full name is Vijayakumar Vasanthakumar, born to a business family in the year 1983. His father H. Vasanthakumar is an entrepreneur and politician who started the leading business company in Kanya Kumari district, Vasanth & Co. Though born to a Billionaire and Retail baron, the world of art is Vijay’s passion. In 2010, he got married to Nithya at Chennai. Though his father is an active politician and MLA, he feels that politics is not his cup of too. He wants to become successful in movies, and also wants to take care of his family business. He is full supported by his family.
