Vijay Benedict Biography 
Vijay Benedict is an Indian playback singer who shot to fame after singing the chartbuster and trendsetter song of early 1980’s – I am a disco dancer for the movie Disco dancer, composed by Bappi Lahiri in 1982. The movie marked the successful Bollywood debut of star actor Mithun Chakraborty. He has sung only a less number of songs in Bollywood. Though Bappi lahiri has given him the most memorable songs, he has also been associated with Laxmikant Pyarelal, Anand-Milind and Nadeem-Shravan. His voice suited well for Govinda, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Aamir Khan, though he was mostly used as the ghost voice of Mithun. His debut as a singer too, happened with Disco dancer which was really a big break to his career and the rise of discos and pop music in Bollywood scenario. He has rendered his voice to about 40 Bollywood movies.
He completed his graduation in Indian Classical Music and post-graduation in Business Management. His debut song, I am a disco dancer, he became a sensational singer. Very soon he became a globetrotter with concerts all over the world. The death of his younger brother in Germany brought a great change to his life. His brother was an eye witness of a drug deal and he lost his life when he complained to the police. The drug dealers shot him dead. The death of his brother gave Benedict a lot of questions and in search of its answers he devoted himself to his Christian religion. From a rock singer, he turned to a Gospel singer.
A few of his noted songs in Bollywood include – title track of "Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki", "We Are in Love", "Jeene Hai Pyar Main Jeena" and "Main Tujhse Pyaar Karta Hoon" for Aamir Khan- Juhi Chawla starrer Love Love Love and hit tracks of 1987 hit Dance dance.
