Venkatesh Prasad Biography 
Venkatesh Prasad is a former cricketer of team India known for his fats bowling. He has been one among the best fast bowlers India ever had and he played for India during the period – 1996 to 2001. He along with Srinath and Kumble formed the successful trio of Indian bowlers during late 1990’s. He played 33 tests and 161 ODI for team India where he took 96 and 196 wickets respectively. He has taken ‘5 wickets in an innings’ seven times and has once claimed 10 wickets in a match. In 1996/97, he received Ceat International Cricketer of the Year for his outstanding bowling performance. In 2000, he was given Arjuna Award for his contributions to Indian cricket.
Venkatesh Prasad was born on 5 August 1969 in Bangalore, Karnataka. He made his ODI debut in the year 1994 against New Zealand at Christchurch on April 2. He was given 9 overs in this debut match, but couldn’t get any wickets. He turned to be the most expensive bowler too, giving 49 runs. India lost this match as well. But later he became one among 11 team members, a time when Sachin, Laxman, Dravid and Ganguly had just started to rule the crease with their super shots. 6 for 33 against Pakistan in 1999 and 10 wickets in a Test match in Durban, South Africa, in December 1996 remain his most noticed performances.
He suffered from injuries frequently bringing his career to a little more fast note. He was dropped from the Indian team after 2001 test series in Sri Lanka. He played his final Test match in Sri Lanka in 2001 (August 29 to September 2) at Columbia where Sri Lanka scored an innings win over India. However he managed to get 3 wickets in the first innings. Later he has served Indian team as a bowling coach.
