Veera Bahu Biography

Veera Bahu is a film actor associated with Tamil cinema. He marked his acting debut with Nadunisi Naaygal (2011), directed by Gautham Menon. Prior to entering movies as an actor, he has worked as an assistant director under the same director. The experimental thriller film earned him a nomination at Vijay Award for Best Debut Actor. Earlier he has done a couple of uncredited roles in Pachaikili Muthucharam (2007) and Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), both directed by Gautham Menon. After a break of 4 years, he returned to silver screen in 2015 with the commercial hit – Rajathandhiram.

Veera Bahu, shortly called Veera belongs to Chennai. Veera started his film journey as an assistant to ace film maker Gautham Menon in 2006. He worked with Gautham in a few movies like Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006) and Pachaikili Muthucharam (2007) and also did a couple of brief roles in Gautham’s movies. In 2007, Gautham casted him as one among the four male leads of “Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam”, opposite Trisha Krishnan. However the movie got shelved. Yet he continued working with Gautham as an assistant. He played a small role of an army commando in Vaaranam Aayiram.

The actor had a long wait of 6 years to get his first lead role. In 2011, Gautham Menon gave him the big break to Kollywood and casted him as the male lead for his experimental project - Nadunisi Naaygal. He trained with a Chennai based psychiatrist to prepare for the role. The movie received mixed responses from critics and was an average grosser. But his acting skills got noticed and he received a nomination at Vijay Film Awards for best debut actor (male). Adangaamai was the next project signed by him. But the movie got shelved. In 2015, he was paired with Regina Cassandra for an action thriller titled Rajathandhiram, which was a box office hit.
