Vatsan Chakravarthy Biography

Vatsan Chakravarthy is a south Indian film actor who concentrates on Tamil movies. He plays supporting roles. He made his debut with Aridhu Aridhu (2010) playing a character role and was later seen in the movies, Engaeyum Eppothum (2011), Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam (2012), Vathikuchi (2013), Apple Penne (2013), and most recently Tharkappu (2016). Engaeyum Eppothum was his first major break, where he played the role of a charming guy who falls in love with a fellow traveller in bus. His roles as Siluva in Pandi Oliperukki Nilayam and as Praveen in Vathikuchi were also appreciated.  He was also seen playing the title role in the suspense thriller – Apple Penne. “Ticket” is his upcoming release.

He was born in Chennai in the year 1991. He is a diehard fan of actor Vijay and has recorded a tribute song to his childhood hero titled Thalapathy Anthem. The album was launched by none other than Vijay himself. 'Vazhka oru vattam da' is his popular Vijay dialogue. Aridhu Aridhu in 2010 was his debut film. His second film - Engaeyum Eppothum released in 2011 still remains the most memorable role of his career. In fact the actor is still known by this romantic role of a charming guy, in which his character tries to impress a pretty girl the bus which Jai takes. The movie which received high positive reviews from critics also starred Jai, Anjali, Sharwanand and Ananya in lead roles.

This actor actually wanted to become director in the film industry. He tried hard to become assistant director of Tamil movies, but he couldn’t succeed. Later he landed into small roles of films and with his second film - Engaeyum Eppothum he took acting seriously. When he bagged his first lead role for Apple Penne, among those who sent him wishes include his idol – Vijay. Vijay sent him wishes through an autographed photo which read ‘Best Wishes Vatsan’. His latest release Tharkappu was an extension of Engaeyum Eppothum.
