Vani Harikrishna Biography

Vani Harikrishna is a playback singer and music director of Kannada film industry. She is married to successful music composer, V. Harikrishna. She is the granddaughter of famous music composer of yesterdays, G. K. Venkatesh. Her son Aditya too has entered playback singer through his father’s composition for the movie, Snehitharu. Vani turned film music composer with 'Loosugalu' for which she composed 6 songs. Ring Road Shubha was her next release as a music director. Apart from film music Vani is also associated with devotional songs. Vaani is a state award singer for 'Inthi Ninna Preethiya' song - Madhuvana Karedare....Thanumana, written by Jayanth Kaikini and composed by Sadhu Kokila.

 

Singer-turned-music composer Vani comes from a family full of musicians. Her grandfather G. K. Venkatesh was one of the prominent music composers of yesterdays. Her mother Bhanumathy Ramaswamy, her sister Veena Nagraj, and her husband V Harikrishna too are associated with music. His son too is inclined to music and has sung for a few movies. Vani began her career as a classical vocalist and later turned to movies. Though she has never aimed to become a music director, Vani has made her mark in film industry as a music composer in the recent times.

 

She sang maximum songs for her husband. She has also worked with leading music composers like Sadhu Kokila and Sagar S. Mussanje Veleli of  Addhuri, "Badukodu Hege" of Snehitaru, "Hey Neeli Gagana" of Meghave Meghave, "Olave Ninne" of Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu, "Madhuvana Karedare of Inthi Ninna Preethiya and "Hesaru Poorthi" of Paramathma are a few of her memorable songs. Karnataka state awards, Mirchi awards and Suvarna Film Award are the major awards received by her.
