Vandana Menon Biography

Vandana Menon is a south Indian actress who appears in Malayalam most. Born in Thrissur, her debut to film industry was with movie Mayookham in a supporting role and the movie was directed by Hariharan. This movie marked the debut of successful south Indian actress, Mamta Mohandas too. However this offbeat movie was not successful at box office. Vandana played the role of Nalini in this movie. Before Mayookham happened to her, she has appeared in bit roles of south Indian non-Malayalam movies like Pellaniki Premalekha Priyuraliki Subhalekha - 1992 (child actress) and April Mathathil (Tamil flick – 2002).    


Vandana was born on June 10, 1989 in Mulankunthukavu, 10 kms away from Thrissur main town.  After Mayookham she appeared in supporting roles of Malayalam movies - Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri (2007) and Thavalam (2008). In both these movies Super star Suresh Gopi was the leading actor.  - Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri is a suspense crime thriller where Kavya Madhavan played double role and Vandana played a bit role.


Happy husbands, Malayalam remake of Bollywood comedy flick – No entry was the real break of this actress. She played opposite Jayasurya in this movie, reprising the role of Celina Jaitley in the original. It was through this movie that she got a major role in movies and it was a blockbuster in Malayalam in the year 2010. Though it was a supporting role, she was noticed. Following the success of Happy husbands, she got a few more roles in Malayalam. She also appeared in Dileep’s 100th movie – Kaaryasthan the same year. Ulakam Chuttum Valiban in 2011 and Simhasanam in 2012 are her released movies and the third movie, Rasputin where she plays the role of a doctor is to release soon.

Ulakam Chuttum Valiban was her first movie in full fledged role where she acted opposite Jayaram, the leading actor of successful movie – Happy husbands. She played the role of TV channel Presenter Varsha in this movie.
