V. Srinivas Goud Biography

V. Srinivas Goud is an Indian politician and activist from the state of Telangana. He stood in front for 2004–10 Telangana protests, demanding separate statehood for Telangana. He serves as the president of Telangana Gazetted Officers (TGO), and also the Co-Chairman of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC). As a political activist, he is best known for his association with the agitations and protests demanding separate state for Telangana. Currently he also serves as an MLA of Telangana, representing Telangana Rashtra Samithi, a party that he joined in 2014 just before the commence of first state assembly elections.  

V. Srinivas Goud hails from a middle class family of Rachala Village, Addakal Mandal in the Mahabubnagar District. V. Narayan Goud and Shanthamma are his parents. He completed his graduation, followed by PGDCJ, PGDWMM and also cleared state civil service exams to join government service of Andhra Pradesh in 1998. However he resigned from his secure government job and joined the political party Telangana Rashtra Samithi in 2014, and stood in front for the agitations in demanding separate statehood.

In 2014 while serving as the president of Telangana Gazetted Officers, he threatened to launch an indefinite strike if the Union government fails to pass the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in the ensuing Parliament session. He also cleared that they would not cause any harm to the Seemandhra settlers living in Telangana and their protests are only against the integrationists who had been opposing the Telangana State. He successfully contested state assembly elections, representing Telangana Rashtra Samithi, and won the seat from Mahbubnagar constituency. Currently he serves as an MLA of Telangana. He is married and has two daughters.
