V. Manohar Biography 
V. Manohar is a famous music director, lyricist, film director and actor of Kannada movies. He has received Karnataka State Film Award for Best Music Director award three times. He has given music to more than 100 Kannada films. As a lyricist too, he has contributed more than 1000 songs. He has also won State Film Award for Best Lyricist twice. He has also directed a few movies like – Indradhanush and O Mallige and appeared in a few movies in bit roles. He is the composer of one of the greatest songs of 1990’s - "Kolu Mande" from the movie Janumada Jodi. He was a cartoonist of many leading publications before being associated with Kannada cinema. He has also written songs and composed music for television serials.
Manohar comes from Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. He was a cartoonist for some leading newspapers and magazines before entering the territory of movies. He had close association with film directors like Kashinath and Upendra which paved his way to enter movies. His musical career began with movie directed by Upendra in 1992. He composed the music for Tharle Nan Maga, Ee Sambhaashane, O Mallige, Indra Danush, Janumada Jodi, Banda nan Ganda, Swasthick, Duniya, Janumada Gelathi and Mathadana. His first song as a lyricist was "Hodeya Doora Oh Jothegaara" from the movie Anubhava, which is regarded as an evergreen song of Kannada.
He won Karnataka State Film Award for Best Lyricist for the songs - "O Mallige Ninnondige" for the movie Anuraga Sangama and "Megha O Megha" of Gejje Naada. His best compositions that won his best music director awards are - Chigurida Kanasu, Jodi Hakki and Janumada Jodi. His debut film as a director was ‘O Mallige’ released in the year 1997. This movie ran 100 days in theatres making his directorial debut a grand celebration.
