V. Jayashankarr Biography

V. Jayashankarr is a south Indian film director associated with Telugu cinema. He also scripts films. In 2018, he made his directorial debut with Paper Boy, starring Riya Suman and newcomer Santosh Sobhan. The movie received average reviews from critics. Till then he has scripted and written dialogues for half a dozen Telugu movies, mostly short films since 2014. He also directed half a dozen short films till now, of which Ramayanam Lo Tuppakula Veta (2016) and The God Must Be Crazy (2015) are memorable ones. Other short films are Half girlfriend (2014), Love U Forever (2014), Happy ending (2015) and Half girlfriend 2 (2016).

 

V. Jayashankarr hails from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, and he was born in year 1989. Karimnagar is his native place. He completed B. Tech from Osmania University Hyderabad before joining film industry. He also worked at Bank of America for two years, before starting off with short films. It was writer Adivishnu a popular novelist in Telugu, who advised him to write stories instead of concentrating on to direction. He made around half a dozen of short films, before he got his first break to big screen through Paper Boy in 2018. This movie was produced by director Sampath Nandi.

 

Jayashankarr has made six short films so far, among which Half Girlfriend and The God Must Be Crazy became viral on the social networking platforms. All his short films possess over two crore cumulative viewership. His debut movie was predominantly shot in Hyderabad, apart from a few sections in Mumbai and Goa. Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music album. The movie received an average rating of 3 out of 5 from movie critics.
