Tumpa Ghosh Biography

Tumpa Ghosh is a familiar face of Bengali television. Currently she is one of the most sought actresses of Bengali small screen. She owns many hit shows to her credit, such as Rangiye Diye Jao, Raage Anuraage, Agnijal and many more. She marked her television debut with the show Bidhir Bidhan in 2011, playing protagonist’s role. Since then she has been lucky enough to portray only lead roles on Bengali small screen. These shows also helped her to gain immense popularity and celebrity status among Bengali speaking audiences. In 2016, she marked her film debut with Paan Supari.  

Tumpa Ghosh was born on November 18, 1995 in Nadia, West Bengal. She belongs to a middle class family from Shantipur. She belongs to a joint family, and has one brother. Currently she resides in Kolkata, busy with her shooting schedules for TV shows. Her father stays with her in Kolkata in a rented home, while her mother is away at her hometown. To pursue a career in acting and financially support her family, she has to stay away from hometown. But she adds that she is not working just because of remuneration, but it’s her fulfillment of passion too. Now she owns a celebrity status in her village, and whenever she goes gone, residents do visit her as if she is a bride.

She believes that it is because of everyone’s blessings that she has been always been offered lead roles so far. She has appeared in 5 TV serials up-to-date, and she has been casted in lead role in all these soaps too. Debashree Roy is her screen idol. Since young she used to idolize her, and got inspired from her to join the field of acting.
