Tulsidas Jadhav Biography 
Tulsidas Jadhav was a freedom fighter, politician and social worker from Dahitane, Solapur, who was also known as a political activist. He was a farmer by profession and 2-time parliamentarian. As a successful politician he has been elected to Bombay Legislative Council and Lok Sabha. He was associated with Indian National Congress from 1921 to 1947 and was very active in freedom struggle movement throughout these years. During the period 1951-57 he was a member of Bombay Legislative Assembly, after Indian independence. In the pre-independent period, he served the same position during 1937-1939 and 1946-1951. Throughout his active years of social work, he worked relentlessly for the upliftment of Harijan and Dalit communities.
Tulsidas Subhanrao Jadhav was born on 25 January 1905 in Dahitane village, Tal.Barshi. His birth place now belongs to Solapur, Maharashtra. He completed his schooling from Solapur. He married Janabai Tulsidas Jadhav in 1913 and had 6 children. One of his daughters Kalavati was married to noted politician Babasaheb Bhosale, who later became Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Thus Jadhav was the father-in-law of Congress politician, Babasaheb Bhosale.
Tulsidas Subhanrao Jadhav started his active political career in the late teens, when he joined Indian National Congress in 1921. However he left Congress party soon after Indian Independence. As a freedom fighter he was associated with Salt Satyagraha in 1930, Quit India Movement etc and got jailed in 1931, 1932, 1941 and 1942. During his active years in politics, he also became a member of Bombay Legislative Assembly. He worked as Mahatma Gandhi’s secretary when he was in Yerwada prison in 1932. In 1961 he again joined Congress, and got elected to 3rd and 4th Lok Sabha.
