Timir Biswas Biography 
Timir Biswas is the lead singer of the band Fakira from West Bengal. He is also known as a lyricst and composer of the band, which consists of band members - Chayan Chakraborty, Apurba Das, Kunaal Biswas and Avirup Das. Timir is the lead singer and keyboard player of this popuar band. Timir has also done playback singing. Fakira released their debut album Itorpona in 2014, which became immensely popular. The album contained 8 tracks and won the Special Jury Award in Mirchi Music Awards Bangla. Once Jeet Ganguly has referred him as “Bryan Adams of Bengal” and Timir has sung a few popular film tracks.
Timir was born on 20 November 1982 on 20 November 1982 into a family of theatric background. His father has been a theatre artist, though a bank employee. He graduated in economics from Raghunathpur College. Timir started his career as a singer for ad jingles at a very young age of four years. He never formally trained in music and his singing was never encouraged by parents. For the same reason he never practised in this section or competed for singing competitions at school. His entry to music was just co-incidence when he happened to sing to seniors while at college and they liked it. His singing talent was encouraged by his seniors who regularly used to make him sing. Since then he started training himself in songs.
He started writing songs and composed as well. Though he approached many music persons, no one encouraged him. Once he got an opportunity to perform at a concert of Nachiketa Chakraborty which proved to be the real breakthrough. Then he became one of the founding members of the band Muzik Street. He turned a playback singer with the movie, ‘033’ followed several songs. As he turned busy, he had to leave Muzik street and formed the band Fakira.
