Tiku Talsania Biography

Tiku Talsania is a popular comedian and actor associated with Bollywood and small screen. A veteran comedian of Hindi entertainment industry, he is a household name through the countless roles he played on small screen and big screen, mostly as a comedian. He is regularly featured in TV ads too. He is associated with film industry since mid-1980s, and has played over a hundred character roles on celluloid. He also performs as freelance theatre artist, associated with Gujarati theatre. He also performs as a stage actor abroad.

 

He was born in Mumbai in 1954. His younger days were spent in Mumbai itself. Tiku is married to Dipti and has two children. His daughter named Shikha Talsania, a noted actress. He started his acting career through television in 1984, before he took up film roles. He was seen in the TV serial, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi in 1984. Since then he is fully active in television field, mostly playing comic roles. His role as Dhanwantrilal Dhyanchand Dholakia (3D) in Golmaal Hai Bhai Sab Golmaal Hai, Tiku/Jija Ji in Pritam Pyare Aur Woh, Retired Colonel Raj Malhotra in Uttaran, Dhirubhai Jhaveri in Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo and Prem Kapoor in Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai are among his popular roles on small screen.

 

This Bollywood funny man has also played some pivot roles in Bollywood movies such as Devdas, Hungama, Naajayaz, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara, Special 26, Ishq, Jodi no.1, Raja Hindustani, Daraar, Deewana Mastana, Andaz Apna Apna, Dhol, Mr. Bechara, Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa, Mela, Raju Chacha, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Duplicate, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Veer, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya etc. Duty in 1986 was his debut Bollywood flick where he was seen in a grey shaded role. It was followed by Pyaar Ke Do Pal.

 

With early 1990s, he established himself as a successful comedian on silver screen. He played the serious role of Shah Rukh Khan’s caretaker in Devdas. He has a strong theatre background. He is a great fan of late Bengali actor Utpal Dutt.
