Thriller Manju Biography

Thriller Manju is a cine artist associated with south Indian films. He is known as an actor, director and martial artist, who also handles screenplay, choreography and stunts for movies. Manju predominantly works in Kannada film industry and is associated with all south Indian film industries, in one form or another. He made a police trilogy in Kannada language – Police Story 1, 2 and 3, which emerged as blockbusters and established him as an action director, apart from a stunt coordinator. The movies were released in the years – 1996, 2006 and 2011 respectively. He has also directed one more movie - Jayahe in 2010, where he played lead role and shared screen space with Ayesha and Jai Akash.

A Kannadian, Thriller Manju’s real name is Manjunatha Kumar. He was born in the year 1972. Manju entered films in the mid-1980s. Audience at cinema theaters used to clap when his name appears in the title cards of movies. Manju completed 25 years in cinema as an action director in 2011 and he has been credited more than 400 films as an action director cum stunt coordinator. Now his name is counted among the top action directors of Kannada film industry as well.

Apart from doing title roles as a stuntman in a few movies, he has also portrayed character roles. Body Guard (2003), Neethone Vuntanu (2002), Ek Lootera (2005), Jayahe (2010) and Police Story 3 (2011) are some of his onscreen appearances. In 2011, he created history by completing the film shooting of the movie - Police Story 3 in 12 hours and the movie with duration of two and a half hours was released in just 10 days after the shooting. The movie thus made into Guinness World Records and the Limca Book of Records.
