Thesni Khan Biography

Thesni Khan is an actress of Malayalam cinema most seen in supporting roles. She is best known her for her roles as Kanyaka in Beautiful (2011) and Trivandrum Lodge (2012); both the movies belong to Anoop Menon – Jayasurya team. In both movies she played the role of illiterate lady, in Beautiful as servant and in Trivandrum Lodge as a prostitute. Though she has been active in the industry for a decade or so, Trivandrum Lodge gave her big break to her acting career and the movie is known for its adult comedy scenes. Now she is known as a comic actress of Malayalam.

Thesni is the daughter of magician Ali Khan and a student of Cochin Kalabhavan. Thesni Khan has won FRAME award for Best actor in a Comic Role (Female) for television comedy show – Cinemala. She is known for her comic roles in television programs. Her television shows include – Cinemala, Sundari Sundari, Chakyarum Kappyarum Pinne Moyillyarum and Abhinethri. She has also appeared in television serials like Velankanni matha, Sandhanagopalam and Ente Alphonsama.

After studying in Kalabhavan she entered the industry during late 80’s in brief roles. Though she has portrayed numerous roles in movies, it was through comedy programs of television that she became a known name of Kerala. As an actress she has appeared in many memorable movies of Malayalam since 1980’s. A few of them include – Moonampakkam, Daisy,Dasaratham, Aagneyam, Kakkathollayiram, Ayalathe Adheham, Moonam pakkam, In Harihar Nagar, Shubhayathra, Kalikkalam, Congratulations Miss Anitha Menon, Journalist, Kadal, Njan Salperu Ramankutty, Sundara Purushan, Sahayathrikakku Snehapoorvam, Meenathil Thalikettu, Minnaminuginum Minnukettu, Gajakesariyogam, Godfather, Sasneham, Kilukkampetti, Njan Gandharvan, Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal, Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal, Pokkiri raja, Meenathil Thalikettu, Kaaryasthan, Innathe Chintha Vishayam, Seniors, Paappi appacha, Mr. Marumakan, Kusruthi Kattu, Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal, Diamond necklace, Thappana, Da thadiya, Kammath & Kammath, Breaking news live, Kanal kaattu and Uppukandam Brothers.
