Tej (south Indian Actor) Biography

Tej, also known as a Tejas is an actor who works in south Indian films. He predominantly works in Kannada films and is known for his charming looks. Priyanka (2016) – the crime thriller is his latest release, where he was paired with Priyanka Upendra. A promising young actor of Kannada film industry at present, Thunindhavan and Dude are his upcoming releases. Though associated with Kannada movies at present, earlier he was seen in many Tamil movies since 2009. Konjam Veyil Konjam Mazhai, Kadhalukku Maranam illai, Gaantham, Mozhivathu Yathanil and Vinnai Thodhu are his Tamil releases up-to-date. 2004 Kannada film Meese Chiguridaga marked his film debut and 2009 film, Kadhalukku Maranam illai was his first Tamil release.

His real name is Vinod. He was born in Devanahalli, a small town in Bangalore. His schooling was completed in his hometown. Later he completed Engineering in Information Technology, and also joined the leading software company Infosys where he worked for a short while. Later he received his Master’s degree in Business management. He was involved with films since his college days and was seen for the first time onscreen in the Kannada film - Meese Chiguridaga in 2004 directed by Praveen Naik. He played the role of Vikram in the movie. He returned to movies after a long gap of 5 years in 2009. Since then he is fully active in film industry.

He was launched to Tamil film industry by producer K. T. Kunjomon and the movie was Kadhalukku Maranam Illai. He played lead role in the film opposite Meera Nandan and Maddalasa, and the movie was a commercial hit. He has also christened himself Rahul, though he changed his name later. After the success of his debut flick he received many offers from Tamil film industry and he acted in four Tamil movies before moved to Kannada. He played the supporting role of Navin in Tamil movie, Un Samayal Arayil.
