Tanishk Bagchi Biography

Tanishk Bagchi is a music composer associated with Bollywood whose maiden song, ‘Banno’ song from the movie, Tanu weds Manu returns (2015) became a sensation and a huge chartbuster. In 2017 he gave two big chartbusters to Bollywood and both were revived versions old hits - Tamma Tamma from Badrinath Ki Dulhania and this year’s biggest chartbuster, "Mere Rashke Qamar" originally sung by the legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He revived the song adding Rahet Fateh Ali Khan’s vocals as well, and is this year’s top song up-to-date. It’s after a short break, Rahat’s voice is being used in Bollywood following the controversies last year.

Tanishk Bagchi got his big break to Bollywood through, ‘Banno’ song from the movie, Tanu weds Manu returns (2015). This wedding song featured the lead actress Kangana Ranaut, and was sung by Swati Sharma and Brijesh Shandilya. Like Tanishk Bagchi it was Swati Sharma’s dream debut to Bollywood. Tanishk Bagchi composed this song aside Vayu, who penned its lyrics as well, while the rest songs were composed by Krsna Solo. However ‘Banno’ song became a fever across the nation, and earned him instant recognition.

Since the release of Banno song, Tanishk Bagchi has composed several hit singles for Bollywood. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is his biggest work in Bollywood after that, where he composed the title track, and also revived the classic song, Tamma Tamma originally composed by Bappi Lahiri. Baarish from the film Half Girlfriend is yet another chartbuster single composed by Tanishk Bagchi, and currently one of the most promising music directors of Bollywood. He also composed the title song - Main Hoon and Beat It Bijuriya for the movie Munna Michael in 2016. Vayu co-composed the Beat It Bijuriya song.

Bolna from Kapoor & Sons, "Samandar" from Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Rabba and Allah Hu Allah are other noted works. Apart from reviving "Mere Rashke Qamar" originally composed by Nusrat, he also revived R. D. Burman’s evergreen classic song, Kehdoo Tumhein (Socha Hai), which was well-received.
