T. Sudhakaran Biography

Sudhakaran was a full time stage actor and noted Malayalam film actor known for portraying character roles. Samoohyapaadam, Ain and Sadayam are among his noted film appearances. His work in Ain was critically appreciated. Famous character artist of Malayalam cinema, Sudheesh is his son. He was a famous stage actor too, who has given life to numerous lead roles for Dramatist and actor Jayaprakash Kuloor’s plays. In fact he earned more success in stage plays than the 50 character roles he played for Mollywood. He won the Sangeetha Nataka Akademi award for the best actor for his performance in the stage play - Punarjani. He passed away on January 4, 2016 aged 74. He was last seen in 2015 blockbuster romantic saga – Ennu Ninte Moideen.

He was born on 28 September 1943 to Madhavan Menon and Janaki Amma. He started his artistic journey as a stage actor. Akkitham's "Ee Edathi Nonaye Parayoo" in 1957 was one of his first major breaks. He played the lead hero roles in many plays over the years. A full-time drama artist, he received the silver medal for best comedian in 1964. Punarjani earned him best actor award. A civil servant by profession, he retired as deputy collector from the Wayanad Revenue Department in 1995. After that he dedicated his full time in theatric activities. Chirippetti - an one-man show with no dialogues was one of his noted performances.

He stepped into films in the year 1979 and "Ormayil Nee Mathrem" was his debut flick. He played noted supporting roles in so many films later.  Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015) was his last release. Moksham, Deepamsthambham Mahashcharyam, Punarjani, Kankettu, Ithu Bhoomiyanu, Sannivesham and Niyanthranam are his best stage plays. He spent more than 5 decades in theatre.
