T. Rajeevnath Biography 
T. Rajeevnath is a National Award-winning film director from Malayalam. He made his first short film in 16mm camera soon after completing his academic studies. Thanal – released in 1976 marked his debut as a film director for which he received critics’ appreciation. The film won him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Director and presented the leading actor Soman with best actor award at the same section. His film Kadaltheerathu (1988), based on the short story by O. V. Vijayan was selected for Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India. His 1999 flm, Janani was premiered in Oslo, Norway and won him the National Film Award for Best Direction. His last released movie is Anubhav: An Actor's Tale (2009) in Hindi language. He has spent more than 30 years in the film industry, making many critically acclaimed movies.
He was born in Changanassery, Kottayam in the year 1951. He is married to Sreekumary and the couple has two kids. A short film shot in 16mm camera was his first handy experience as a director. Thanal (1976) marked his debut as a feature film director, through which he bagged Kerala State Film Award for Best Director. In 1992, he made the movie Aham, with Mohanlal and Ramya Krishnan in lead roles.
Many of his announced projects were shelved. A film titled Ezham Mudra, starring Suresh Gopi and Mandira Bedi based on the romantic classic Casablanca and Swarnachamaram with Sivaji Ganesan – Mohanlal combination are those projects which were never released. He also planned a biopic on the life of Mother Teresa and lead role was to play by Hollywood actress, Paris Hilton. This project too was never materialized.
