Swati Verma Biography

Swati Verma is a well-established actress of Bhojpuri film industry known for her bold and glamorous roles. This popular actress of Bhojpuri cinema has also appeared in a few south Indian films. Sasurari Zindabad released in 2007 marked her acting debut in Bhojpuri cinema, and she shot to fame with her debut release. She has also acted as a child actress in Hindi B-grade movie, Pyaasi patni in 1992. She acted in Tamil movies - Brahma Deva, Kootanchoru and Drogam Nadanthathu Enna. Worked with Bhojpuri stars like Ravi Kissen and Manoj Tiwari in Bhojpuri cinema, the actress has carved an enviable niche for herself in Bhojpuri circles.

 

She hails from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. But she was born in Mumbai. Both her parents are doctors who worked in KEM hospital, Mumbai, in the 1970s. Later the family shifted to Bilaspur. She took up science as her subject as her parents desired she too choose the same profession. But Swati dreamt to become an actress since childhood. Swati has once gone to Russia where she did interior designing and also learnt Russian language. Horse riding, Kathak and western dancing are her hobbies and she has Karate-black belt too.

 

She made her acting debut as a child through television shows such as Ek din ki vardi, Suraag and Aryaman. Later she took acting course at Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting school in Mumbai. Her parents were skeptical initially later gave her permission to pursue her dreams in film industry. Her brother Akshay Verma is an actor who has appeared in a few Bollywood and south Indian films. Sasurari Zindabad marked her acting debut as a lead film actress in 2007 and she rose to stardom with this single movie. The movie did exceedingly well in Bihar. She starred with Ravi Kishen for the movies Maatti and Rasik Balma.
