Sushant Singh Rajput Biography

Sushant Singh Rajput is a television actor and film actor. Rajput made his film debut in Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che! in the year 2013, an adoption of Chetan Bhagat's  popular novel - The 3 Mistakes of My Life. Before entering movies, he was an established actor of Indian television, most known for his role in daily soap Pavitra Rishta. He is known for his dance steps as well. He finished second in the dance based reality show - Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 4.

 
Rajput was born in Patna, Bihar on 21st January, 1986. His family moved to New Delhi in early 2000s and had settled there. He did his schooling from St. Karen's High School in Patna and Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. He took admission in Delhi College of Engineering and joined Shiamak Davar's dancing academy and Barry John's theatre classes. He dropped his studies and moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. Rajput danced with Ashley Lobo's troupe, learned martial arts from Allan Amin and has also worked as assistant director of Mohit Suri in Raaz 2 – the mystery continues. He was a member of Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theater group also during this period.

 
In 2008, he went for an audition and got selected for Star Plus’ television serial, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil which placed him as a popular television actor. It was followed by Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta in 2009, where he did the role of Manav. In May 2010, he joined Star Plus' dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha 2. He attended the audition of Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che!, where he was selected as oen among the three lead heroes. The movie was both a critical and commercial success, establishing him as ‘a star of tomorrow’.
