Sushama Reddy Biography

Sushama Reddy is a successful model and Bollywood actress. She is the elder sister of actress Sameera Reddy, yet she debut movies after Sameera. Her sister Meghna Reddy is also a successful model. This successful model and VJ of tv channels was born in Andhra Pradesh. It was her sister Meghna Reddy who persuaded her to join the television world. Bharatbala Productions gave her the first break. She has done more than 100 commercials including Limca, Liberty, Godrej, Blender's Pride, Fair & Lovely, Ford Icon and Thumbs Up. Her ads of soft drinks like Limca and Thumbs up are very popular. She did Thumbs up ad with Salman Khan. She was the model of Sonu Nigam’s album song, ‘Ab mujhe raat din’ of Deewana (1999) and this particular song proved to be the milestone of Sonu Nigam’s singing career. She has also appeared in DJ Suketu's Tere Jaisa Pyaar and Sona Mohapatra's Ishq Nachaya.

Sushama Reddy studied her schooling from Bombay Scottish School, Mahim and did graduation in Economics from Mithibai College, Mumbai. She did filmmaking course from NYFA, New York. When Channel V was launched in India, she became one among the earliest Video Jockeys of this music channel. She worked for 2 years and was very successful as VJ.  Sushama has hosted Dream Hotels on Travel and Living channel based on interior soft furnishing.

As an actress, she debut with Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets in 2005. The movie was directed by Vivek Agnihotri and she was casted Anil Kapoor. She also appeared in Shah Rukh Khan’s Don: The chase begins again and Shahid Kapoor’s Chup chupke as his lover. This Priyadarshan directed movie was the remake of Malayalam movie ‘Punjabi house’ and she reprised the role of Jomol. She has also done a reality show - Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2. In 2010, she produced the movie Dus Thola, again a remake of Malayalam movie, ‘Ponmuttayidunna thaaravu’. Now she is working on the projects - National Roaming and The Stamp Collector. Sushama has also started her own television production company, Niki Redi Productions and it produces travel shows for channels like TLC.
