Suresh (hindi Actor) Biography

Suresh is one of the less-known actors of Bollywood yesterdays, who has acted in both lead and supporting roles. He started his career in the 1940s as a child artist. He played lead role opposite almost all leading ladies of B’town in the 1950s including Madhubala, Suraiya, Vyjayanthimala and Geeta Bali and with 1960s moved to character roles. Many beautiful songs of 1950s have been pictured on him.

Nazim Amad is his real name. He was born on13th November, 1928 in Gurdaspur, East Punjab. Suresh started his career as a child artiste with Bombay talkies in the early 1940s and has appeared in the movies - Anjan (1941), Naya Sansar (1941) and Basant (1942). With the late 1940s he moved to adult roles. He was the favourite of film maker A.R. Kardar, who gave him many offers as lead hero. Dulari (1949), Jadoo (1951), Deewana (1952) and Yasmin (1955) are some of the lead roles offered to him by A. R. Kardar. He also appeared in two Pakistani films Do kinaray (1950) and Eid (1951). But with the mid-1950s his career witnessed a down side graph and he acted in many B-grade and C-garde movies. Wazir-e-Azam (1961) and Sher-e-Afghan (1966) were some of his wrong decisions.

In the 1970s he turned a producer. He produced Ganga Aur Suraj under the banner of N.A. Suresh. But the movie got delayed when Anwar Hussain, the main villain got paralyzed and was later replaced by Kader Khan. The movie got finally released in 1980 and it bombed at box office. Suresh died penniless. Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki and Mil mil ke gayenge do dil yahan from Dulari were pictured on him and Madhubala.
