Sunitha Biography

Sunitha is a Malayalam actress who was active in the industry during early 90’s. She has been casted in a few Kannada and Tamil movies as well. She has done both leading roles as well as supporting characters for the movies. She was most successfully paired with Mohan Lal, Jagdeesh, Jayaram and Siddique during early 90’s of which her pairing with Jagdeesh was noted most, followed by Siddhique. Her most successful movies are Appu opposite Mohan lal, Mukhachitram opposite Sidhique, Adheham Enna Idheham, Vakkeel Vasudev, Kaliveedu, Soubhagyam and Mimics Parade opposite Jagdeesh, Gajakesariyogam opposite Mukesh, Nandhini Oppol opposite Ganesh, Pookkalam varavai and Georgootty C/O Georgootty opposite Jayaram and Mrigaya and Nilgiri opposite Mamootty.

She is a trained classical dancer also who conducts programs in India and abroad.  She has received Bharatanatyam training from world renowned Guru Sri Padmashree Vazhuvoor Ramaiyya Pillai and his son Sri Kalaimamani Vazhuvoor R.Samaraj. Sunita is known as ‘Kodai Mazhai Vidya’ in Tamil film world. Now she is staying abroad with her husband and children. She began dancing at the tender age of 3 and did her arangetram at the age of 11. Till now, she has done 200 dance recitals all over the world and in the past 10 years, she has dedicated her full time for this art form.

Sunitha started her film career as a child artist and has appeared in movies like Hum paanch, Kodai Mazhai, Kani Kanum Neram and Nirabhedangal. In kani kaanum neram, she played the role of a missing teenager. Her first movie in adult actress was Mrigaya opposite Mammooty where she played second lead. In 1991 hit movie Nilgiri also, she was paired opposite Mammooty in second lead. Madhubala was the first lead.

She has acted in a few Kannada and Tamil movies as well. Her Tamil movies are Om Saravana Bava and Nenje Thottu Sollu. She has acted in Kannada movies - Meese Hotta Gandasige Demandappu, Janani, Puksatte Ganda Hotte Tumba Unda, Aaralidha Hoovagalu, Anukulakkobba Ganda and Roll Call Ramakrishna.
