Suneeta Rao Biography 
Suneeta Rao, also credited as Sunita Rao is a successful Indian pop singer. She is a dancer and well known stage performer. She appears in her music videos also. Her top pop songs are Paree hoom mein, Ab ke baras, Kesariya hai roop mera, Paisa, Aaj mere saath aa, Yeh sama jawa jawa and Oy badshah dil mera. Her only association with A. R. Rahman "Adi Paru Mangatha", from 1994 Tamil film, May Madham was also successful.
Suneeta was born in Germany but brought up in Mumbai. Her schooling was at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She was active in stage shows and programs while studying at college. Rao started her career with Suneeta Senorita in 1989. Hindi Pop album entitled' Dhuan', released in 1991 was her first major hit. “Paree hoo mein”, composed by Leslie Lewis made her a household name. She was fondly called "Paree of the Masses" after the release of this album. Her next top album was ‘Ab ke baras’. She was featured in its title track music video and became immensely popular. In 1999, her next pop album, Talaash was released. It was too a musical hit.
As a playback singer, she has sung for Ghulam-e-Mustafa, Dulhan Hum le Jayenge and Kahin pyar na ho jaye. She sang the song, ‘Aa meri life ban jaa’ of Kahin pyar na ho jaye pictured on Salman Khan and Raveena Tandon. She sang the title track of Kahin pyar na ho jaye, another Salman Khan movie, the same year (2000). Her music video entitled 'Chhoti Chhoti Baatein' for the album 'A Reason To Smile' on the occasion of 50 years of Indian Independence was also popular. She also featured in a group song in the album called 'Wajah Muskurane Ki'. She is married to Jason West, a cinematographer. She is the spokesperson of an initiative called "Laadli" organized by an NGO called Population First.
