Sulekha Talwalkar Biography

Sulekha Talwalkar is an Indian actress who works in Marathi theatre, movies and television since 1995. Her first television show was Teri Bhi Chup Meri Bhi Chup on ZEE TV. In 1995 she played parallel lead role in Marathi film – Aai. Since then she has been active in film and television industry, mostly portraying side roles and character roles. In 2012 she played lead role in the Marathi movie - Shyamche Vadil. Marathi play Mahasagar is her one of her recent appearances for theatre as a stage actress. She is married to Amber Talwalkar, belonging to the famous Talwalkar family. Noted Marathi actress Smita Talwalkar is her mother-in-law.

She was born as Sulekha Dharadhar as single child to her parents. She studied at King George School, Mumbai and Ramnarain Ruia College. She got married to the son of noted actress and producer Smita Talwalkar. Her husband Amber Talwalkar is associated with a major chain of health club in India, where he serves as one of its director. Talwalkar has been a part of the performing arts industry for over many years. Currently she is associated with production house 'Asmita Chitra' as well, run by her mother-in-law.

She started acting in 1995 while studying at Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai. She joined the theatre troupe Natyawalay and performed for the play, Saatchya Aat Gharat. Then she entered television through the serial, Teri Bhi Chup Meri Bhi Chup of Adhikari brothers. Aai – the same year marked her film debut and later she appeared in Marathi serials like Bolachich Kadhi Bolachach Bhaat, Awantika, Jaawaishodh and Shrawansari. She was most recently seen in television series - Shejari Shejari Pakke Shejari in 2013.
