Sulagna Panigrahi is an Oriya television actress who made her Bollywood entry through Murder 2. In this movie, she played the pivot role of Reshma as an unwilling escort young woman, aside Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez. Though the promos of the movie highlighted Jacqueline Fernandez and her seductive songs, it was Sulagna Panigrahi who really won the game and noticed for a striking resemblance to Celina Jaitley. Earlier she has worked in several television serials like Bidaai, Ambar Dhara, Do Saheliyaan, and so on. She is to debut Tamil cinema with ‘Isai’, the movie written and directed by S. J. Surya. In this movie, her screen name is Savithri.

She belongs to Bhubaneswar, Orissa and was born in 3 February 1989. Later the family moved to Delhi and now settled in Mumbai. Her father was in Indian Army. She worked in television serials before making her Bollywood debut. ’Amber Dhara’ aired on Sony Television in 2007 was her debut television serial, where she played the pivot role of Dhara. Her second show was Do Saheliyaan, where she played the role of Maithali. In her third television serial, Bidai she played the negative role of Sakshi Alekh Rajvansh.

She made a magic entry to Bollywood through the much anticipated project, Murder 2, the second packet of Murder series. ‘Murder’ was a huge blockbuster and for the same reason, expectations were many. She played the supporting role of a poor college student who becomes a psychopathic serial killer and got killed in the climax of the movie. Though promotions hyped the bold look of Jacqueline Fernandez, the meaty role was given to Sulagna and she did the best. She received a nomination at Apsara Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
