Sukhwinder Singh Biography

Sukhwinder Singh is one among the most successful male playback singers of India at present. He has proved his versatility as a successful pop singer. He has an amazing talent to sing high pitch songs and his voice modulation is perfect. His voice with the fragrance of Punjabi soil delivers all types of songs and he is a very popular singer of present times. His album song ‘Nasha hi nasha hai’ of Jashn (2001) established him as a successful pop singer too. He has also given music to a few movies. Hindusthan ki kasam was his debut movie. He has also composed songs for Halla bol, Rakth Charita, Black and white, Kaafila and Astitva.     

 

A.R.Rehman played a significant role in grooming up his career and the milestone movie of Sukhwinder Singh’s singing journey was none other than Chayya Chayya of Dil se. This particular song placed him among the top wanted list and helped him to accumulate all musical awards including Filmfare. He sung this song along with Sapna Awasthi. Till then, his songs are featured in A.R.Rehman movies. Sukhwinder Singh was born in Amritsar, Punjab. He started stage performances at a younger age of 8. His first break was to sing a few lines of Laxmikanth-Pyarelal’s composition in Karma (1986). Though he sung numerous songs till 1998, Dil se gave him a big break that every artist really dreams about. He has won Filmfare twice – For Chayya song as well as Haule haule of Rab ne bana di Jodi. His other memorable songs include – Jaan leva of Moksha, Title track of Debaang, Fashion and Singham, Beedi of Omkara, Shah Ka Rutba of Agni path, Marjaani of Billu, Title song of Chakde India, Dil haara of Tashan and Dard – E-Disco of Om Shanti om.  His energy packed voice has a magical voice to make our minds sing and dance with its tunes. He is one among the most sought voices to sing the energetic title tracks of movies.
