Sukhmani Sadana Biography

Sukhmani Sadana is a noted actress and writer best known for her works in television industry. She played the role of Uttara Bakshi in the TV series Khotey Sikkey aired on Sony Television in 2011. She worked as a scriptwriter in television and ad industry before forayed into acting. Currently she co-scripts Bollywood movies too. After writing a short film for Kunal Kohli, she scripted one romantic Bollywood film for the director. She has also co-scripted two horror flicks for Vikram Bhatt. Her other name is Uttara Bakshi. Currently she appears in the popular web series, Sacred Games, and shares screen space with Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Uttara Bakshi was born into a small town in Punjab. She hails from Amritsar. She studied at Welham Girls School, Dehradun. She moved to New Delhi for higher studies before she came to Mumbai to pursue her dreams in entertainment industry. Her love to the media brought her to the dream city. She also did a diploma from the Xavier Institute in Advertising and Marketing which changed her life. She started as a writer in ad world and television industry and later took acting roles too. As a scriptwriter she worked for different agencies and got a few random offers by clients to act in her own written ads.

Currently Sukhmani Sadana plays Micky, an abusive grey-shaded character in the web series, Sacred Games (2018) and has earned a lot of praises for her role. The actress says that earlier she was rejected because of being "too qualified to be an actor". She has featured in films like Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012), Creature (2014) and Horror Story (2013) and hosted shows on the small screen.
