Sukesh Hegde Biography

Sukesh Hegde is an Indian Kabaddi player who has been successfully associated with PKL for many seasons. He hails from Udupi, Karnataka. He started playing Kabaddi while at school, and when he got interested in it, he continued playing at college, and later he received a lot of help from his coach who groomed his career. He was a part of Telugu Titans from the very first season and played really well until the fourth season. In the 5th season he got injured and couldn’t join his team. But he later joined the newly formed Gujarat Fortunegiants as their captain.

 

Sukesh Hedge was born on 2nd October, 1989 in a small village called Kukkuje in Udupi. From being village boy to Kabaddi superstar with multi-million tag, he had a magical journey till now. His father is a driver. Since young he got attracted to the game. But the school in his village would not admit students to the team before they reached class V. He was more interested in Kabaddi than studies, and his failure in academics helped spur his growth as a Kabaddi player. He failed in his SSC exams and PUC exams, and later he dedicated his full time for Kabaddi.

 

He got selected to play in the All India Inter-Universities competition during his first year at college, and since then he turned more serious with his career option. He moved to Bangalore for his career improvement. He turned from a relatively unrecognized player to a super successful Kabaddi player of the country. As a raider he has represented both Gujarat and Karnataka. He has played around 50 matches as a raider scoring a total of 209 points. After his association with Telugu Titans, there was no turning back and he represented the team for 4 consecutive seasons.
