Sudin Dhavalikar Biography

Sudin Dhavalikar is an Indian Politician and legislator from the state of Goa, belonging to Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. He is a member of state legislative assembly at present representing Marcaim constituency. He also serves as Minister for Public Works Department since 14 March 2017. He has been elected to state assembly 5 times. In 2015 he caught media attention when PWD minister lied on a sworn affidavit regarding his educational qualification. AAP lodged a complaint with Ponda Police demanding an FIR against the leader representing Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party.

 

Sudin Madhav Dhavalikar also known as Sudin alias 'Ramkrishna' Dhavalikar was born on 21 November 1956 in Ponda, Goa. He is nicknamed, Ramkrishna. A five term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly, he is one of the senior leaders of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party in Goa state. He is the second senior-most minister in the Manohar Parrikar government. S eniormost leader from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, he played a magnificent role in keeping alive the party for many years.

 

Over the years he has also emerged as the future chief minister of the state. BJP believes Dhavalikar would be a better choice considering his proximity with party in-charge Nitin Gadkari, who engineered a reunion between BJP and MGP. Dhavalikar also has good equations with state BJP leaders like Sripad Naik, Laxmikant Parsekar, Datta Kholkar, Vinay Tendulkar, Narendra Sawaikar, Sanjiv Dessai and Sadanand Shet Tanavade, making him a popular choice for next CM.

 

In 2014 he sought a ban on mini-skirts and pubs in Goa and its beaches. It also triggered a nationwide controversy. Last year Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar suffered a brain stroke, and the portfolio was taken upon by state chief for a while. He also underwent a surgery at a Mumbai hospital. Dhavalikar is the second Goa minister admitted in a Mumbai hospital after the ministry was formed.
