Suchitra Pillai Biography

Suchitra Pillai is an Indian actress, model, anchor and VJ. She is better known as a model, yet has done a few foreign movies. She has also done bit roles in Bollywood movies like Fashion, 88 Antop Hill, Dasvidhaniya, Dil chahta hai, Dulha Mil Gaya, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Marigold, Waise bhi hota hai – Part 2, Shiva, Everybody Says I'm Fine, Page 3 and Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. She has also appeared in a few music videos like Bally Sagoo's "Dil cheez kya hai" remix video.

Suchitra is a south Indian (Keralite) born in 1971. She is an engineer turned model. She studied at Mumbai. While at college, she was inclined towards drama. Later she graduated in electronic engineering. She did modelling also during this period. It was during this time when she happened to meet actress Raveena Tandon, who was also the same age. Raveena too was do modelling at the same age of 17 and both became good friends. She got married and went to London soon after studies. But the marriage ended in a divorce after seven years.

In 1993, she debut silver screen with French movie, Le prix d'une femme followed by English film, Guru in Seven (1998). She returned to India and assigned the role of video jockey. She frequently appeared in MTV shows and events as host. She shot an Indian wedding ceremony video for Apache Indian. She has also appeared in television shows like Simply South, Red Alert, and Cabaret Cabaret and Zee TV’s Hip Hip Hurray, Rishta.com etc. At the age of 34 she got married to an engineer Lars Kjeldsen in a small function at Kumarakom Lake Resort on May 20, 2005 in typical Kerala tradition. Later they conducted one more wedding at Denmark in Christian ceremony.
