Subodh Bhave Biography

Subodh Bhave is a popular Marathi actor from Maharashtra. He has worked in numerous Marathi tele-serials, movies and theatre and has won numerous awards for his acting talent. He produced a film on the life and history of Balgandharva and the movie was released in Marathi theatres in 2011. He played the title role of Balgandharva in this movie for which he won MIFTA Best actor award and Zee Gaurav Awards 2012 Best actor award. He has also won Zee Gaurav Awards two more times in the years 2008 and 2011, for the movies, Man Pakharu Pakharu and Raanbhool respectively. His role in Raanbhool also earned him best actor award at Maharashtra Times.

Subodh was born in Pune. He became a graduate from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce. He started his career as a salesman in a small IT company called Inika Technologies, Pune. From school days, he was not at all interested in acting. Yet he used to participate in school functions in plays and dances as he got appreciation from his friends and family. He was most interested in sports and spent his leisure time in playground. He joined "Natya Sanskar Kala Academy" at the age of 11 only due to compel of his parents. From here, he learnt first lessons of acting, drama as well as direction. During college days, he used to direct one-act plays and has also acted in them.

His play, "Chandrapurchya Jangalaat" at college days earned him appreciation from critics as well as many awards. He learnt many new things and later became fully attached to drama. He got his first award through "Asach ek divas", Marathi play. Later he entered the glamour world of television and movies. "Sattesathi Saare Kahi" was his debut movie. As a film actor, "Kshan", "'Sakhi", "Man Pakharu Pakharu” are his most noted roles. His negative role "Bhushan" in Zee Marathi's daily soap "Kalat Nakalat" made him a household name among television audience.
