Subbaraju Biography

Subbaraju is an Indian actor known for supporting roles. He has been mostly associated with Telugu movies and known for his stunt roles. Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi, Arya and Pokiri are his noted roles as a character artist. In 2013, he made his Malayalam debut through super hit comedy movie – Sound Thoma. In this movie, he played the role of Sub Inspector Rajesh. His entry to film world was just co-incidence. He was working in Dell Computers, Hyderabad when he was offered a small role by Tollywood director Krishna Vamsi. He went to the director’s home to fix a problem with his personal computer. The director offered him a bit role in the movie, Khadgam. His real Tollywood debut happened with ‘Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi’, directed by Puri Jagannadh.  

Subbaraju was born in Bhimavaram in February, 1977. Penmatsa Ramakrishnam Raju and Vijayalakshmi are his parents and Subbaraju has one brother. After graduation in Mathematics, he did a diploma course in computer and joined Dell Computers, Hyderabad. He was first offered a film role by director Krishna Vamsi followed by Puri Jagannadh. In his real debut Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, he played the role of boxer. He appeared in its Tamil remake - M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi reprising the same role. He gained wide appreciation for this role.

Later he appeared as a fighter doing positive and negative roles in many Telugu movies. He has also done small roles in Bollywood. He played the role of Sreya's cheating lover in Nenunnanu. He played the role of gangster Nayar in the Telugu movie Pokiri. He is to play the lead role in the Telugu remake of blockbuster Kannada Film Duniya.
