Srinu Pandranki Biography

Srinu Pandranki is a short film maker and screenwriter of Telugu entertainment industry. He also got noticed as a writer through his debut work – X-square. Peekaboo and UpmaTinesindhi are among his noted short film works. He hails from Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. His short film works include -The Decision, Estella, Mega Fan, Happy Accidents, Boochi, M.M.S, Unspoken, Upma Tinesindi, Pseudocide, Love Forever, Peek-A-Boo and Hourglass. His short film, Peek-A-Boo was showcased at Cannes in 2014. This film maker has over ten short films and 2 music videos to his credit.

 

Srinu Pandranki was born on 5 October 1987 in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. Balancing writing and directing films is a difficult task. Yet he manages both these professions successfully. He converted a screenplay converted into a novel titled X2, which earned him recognition as a writer. It took six months to convert his “X²” screenplay into a novel. It belongs to mystery genre. This young writer earned recognition as a writer before he reached 26.

 

Some experiences from school days inspired him to write. He had a class for general knowledge and his teacher narrated stories to students. It got him into the art of storytelling and inspired him to take up writing. Arthur Conan Doyle is his favourite author and his “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” is his most favourite work. Sherlock Holmes is his favourite character. As a tribute to Sherlock Holmes, he named the protagonist in X² as “Kevin Holmes”.

 

His second novel “1818 – Zamindars Vs Peasants”, is a historical fiction, and an adapted version of a screenplay as well. It was written as a sequel to Aamir Khan’s Oscar nominated Bollywood film “Lagaan”.
