Srinath (tamil Actor) Biography

Srinath is a noted character artist and film director associated with Tamil cinema. He started his film journey as an actor in the early 1990s as a student, and is a seasonal actor playing supporting roles. Since 1990s, he has appeared in around 40-50 films, and has also directed two films, Muthirai (2009) and Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham (2014). He also appeared in television series, Kadhalikka Neraillai during 2007-2008. He also owns a film production company, SRI. He marked his acting debut in 1991 and directorial debut in 2009.

His debut film as a director, Muthirai was a thriller which received mixed reviews. His second film, Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham was a remake of 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna. It was comedian’s Santhanam’s first film in a lead role, and despite getting mixed reviews, the film fared well at box office. It was a comedy entertainer. As an actor, Kumki 2, Daavu, Veeramadevi and Agni Kunchi Ondru Kanden etc are his upcoming flicks.

Srinath was born in Chennai on 12 May 1974. He is married to Vasandara and has one kid. He studied Visual communications at Loyola college, Chennai. During his academics in the early 1990s, he started his film journey as an actor and appeared in the films, Naalaya theerpu, Nammavar etc. Later he went on to work as assistant director under Kathir and Jeeva. His first break was given by Jeeva, who gave him noted roles in his films, 'Ullam ketkumae', 'Unnalae unnalae' etc. Since then he went on to act in around 50 movies and also directed two movies.

Some of his noted roles include – Eeram, Manam Kothi Paravai, Vaada Poda Nanbargal, Aadu Puli, Rowthiram, Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham, Yaaruda Mahesh, Inga Enna Solluthu etc. He owns a face resemblance with Bollywood villain, Ashutosh Rana.
